When buying a log cabin or BBQ Hut you have several very important questions. The main is “What is included in the standard Log Cabin price?” or “What is included in the standard BBQ Hut price?” We want in this post to open up and detail the prices so you know when you come through our gate into the show site village what to expect…no surprises!
We almost always break our prices down into separate elements including the standard cabin itself (walls, floor, roof, doors, windows etc.), roof coverings (rubber roof, shingles, metal roof), additional insulation, groundwork services and build.
This sometimes leads to a lot of questions as to why we don’t include everything from the beginning.
Here’s why we DON’T include all possible options when giving the basic Log Cabin price.
Choice
The main reason we don’t list things like roof coverings and extra insulation in the basic log cabin price is that we want to give people the ability to choose the options they need.
Our log cabins fulfil a number of roles including:
- storage rooms
- home offices
- garden studios
- garden bars
- dining rooms
- overspill accommodation for family and guests
What you need for the super storage shed isn’t going to be the same for the spare bedroom, so we let you pick and choose the things you need most.
Location
We also deliver buildings all over the UK and while we can offer a fully comprehensive top to bottom installation service, all of our fitters are based in our local area.
While we could build anywhere from John O’Groats to Lands End, the price for this would be very different, thus it’s easier for everyone to price this separately.
Groundwork
Additional groundwork can be required when building a log cabin or BBQ Hut. You may already have a solid foundation in place (i.e., concrete base, decking, or patio slabs) in which case we can show up and start building straight away, however someone else may just have a patch of grass and will need the ground prepared in advance. We have options for either situation, but it is priced separately for this reason.
How We Structure a Quote for a Log Cabin – What is the total Log Cabin Price
To show you how we would fully break down a quote, I’ll give you an example for one of our most popular cabins – The Milan.
Milan 4m x 3m 45mm Log Cabin – £4,752
This price includes the walls, floor, roof, doors, windows etc. All the basic materials required to build the cabin.
Rubber Roof – £566
EPDM Rubber Roof Kit is a package offer that includes the rubber material itself, special black plastic trims, a rear rain guard, and the required adhesive. This roof covering has a 10 Year Guarantee.
Floor Insulation – £231
25/50mm rigid foam insulation placed tightly in between the floor bearers and supported with 2 x 1 treated batons. This will stop cold air from rising underneath the floor and will help regulate the temperature throughout the year.
Roofing Insulation – £917
50mm rigid foam insulation placed internally in between the roofing beams. The insulation is covered with 20mm tongue and groove roof boards which are fixed to the roof beams. This will help regulate the temperature better throughout the year.
Timber Basework – £777
A 140mm x 95mm pressure-treated base frame is supplied which is supported by 100mm x 100mm recycled plastic posts spaced approximately 1.0m apart. At each post location, we dig holes and concrete the posts into the ground. The highest point of the ground determines the frame height. This method allows airflow under the cabin and ensures a solid, level, and stable foundation.
Build / Installation – 18 % of Overall Costs – £1,303
*This is our standard build rate within 80 miles of our Dumbarton (G82) show site. Extra charges may apply for those beyond this criteria*
Total – £8,546 inc VAT
How We Structure a Quote for a BBQ Hut
We use the same process when writing a quote for a BBQ Hut expect some of the options below will be different than those offered for the previous cabin.
Finman BBQ Hut 11m2 – £6,224
This price includes the standard central grill with surrounding tables and attachments, 5 moveable benches, 45mm walls, 20mm floor & roof boards, double-glazed door, windows etc. All the basic materials required to build the cabin.
Roofing Shingles – Included as Standard with all BBQ Huts
Overlapping heavy-duty felt material with an adhesive backing, which is nailed to the roof and finished with felt along the peak and eaves. 10-year guarantee. Available in red / black, green / black, or black.
Bundle Box – £1,130
A bundle box includes Custom Made Cushion Set with water-resistant covers, Finman Extractor Fan, Stainless steel fin extensions for the fan to reduce driving rain down the open chimney pipe, Pyromaniacs Cookbook, Central Wooden Table, 2 x 50l Bags of BBQ Lumpwood Charcoal & 4 x Kuksa Wooden Cups.
Timber Basework – £1,056
A 140mm x 95mm pressure-treated base frame is supplied which is supported by 100mm x 100mm recycled plastic posts spaced approximately 1.0m apart. At each post location, we dig holes and concrete the posts into the ground. The height of the frame is determined by the highest point of the ground. This method allows airflow under the cabin and ensures a solid, level, and stable foundation.
A great choice for Finman BBQ Huts as it will give you the draw required to use the grill effectively. Although permanent , but it won’t have a permanent impact on the surrounding environment that a concrete base would have.
Build / Installation – 18 % of Overall Construction Costs – £1,310
*This is our standard build rate within 80 miles of our Dumbarton (G82) show site. Extra charges may apply for those beyond this criteria*
Total – £9,720 inc VAT
