Bowfield Hotel & Spa, Howwood

In 2019, Manorview Hotels were researching lodge options for a new development planned at Cornhill Castle near Biggar, South West Scotland. Primarily a wedding venue, Cornhill Castle also attracted leisure customers seeking a relaxed stay and required additional accommodation to meet demands.

There were a strong number of options for the project however, the team were looking for something different and special, with the charm to complement the rural setting.

In 2020, one of the directors first became aware of the Finman Retreat at a trade show and knew it would be a fantastic fit for Cornhill Castle. In June 2021, this culminated in a huge project with 7 lodges being delivered and installed, within the Cornhill Castle grounds.

Due to their success, in Summer 2022, further planning was approved for 10 new lodges at another site – the Bowfield Hotel & Spa near Glasgow.  It was a mammoth task, however the results speak for themselves.  From an empty field, to the final results.

The Finman Retreat was again considered an excellent fit to utilise the field space, and maximise revenue. 

At Bowfield, the guest experience was different, so the specification was changed to primarily accommodate families which is an important market for Bowfield.

The ability for Logspan to bespoke design lodges to required specifications was a major reason for the choice.

A special one-off ‘honeymoon suite’ lodge was also created to help attract additional wedding bookings to the hotel - which has turned out to be hugely profitable for Manorview.

Inside

Built to an extremely high specification, this stylish retreat redefines a lodge stay, with a true home-from-home experience. The open-plan living area is warm and inviting, with soft lighting, timber finishes, and modern comforts throughout.

The lounge features a comfortable sofa that converts into a double sofa bed, complemented by a Smart TV and Bluetooth speaker to enjoy your favourite shows, films, or music. A handy mini-fridge and tea/coffee making facilities are provided, perfect for a morning brew or evening refreshment.

The bedroom offers either twin beds or a double, dressed with quality linens to ensure a restful night’s sleep. An en-suite shower room provides convenience and privacy, complete with fresh towels and thoughtful touches.

This retreat combines the charm of nature with modern amenities, creating the perfect escape for couples, friends, or families.

Outside

Step outside to discover your own private hot tub with breathtaking views, the ideal spot to relax and unwind. An outdoor seating and dining area allows you to enjoy alfresco meals, soaking up the surrounding scenery in comfort.
