How much does a log cabin cost?
Log cabins typically start from around £5,000 for a seasonal garden cabin and range up to £25,000+ for fully insulated, year-round accommodation cabins.
The final price depends on size, wall thickness, insulation level, glazing, electrics and installation requirements.
Do I need planning permission for a log cabin?
In most cases, garden log cabins fall under permitted development and do not require planning permission.
However, rules depend on height, position in the garden, and intended use (especially if used as accommodation).
We’re happy to advise based on your postcode and intended use.
Can I use a log cabin all year round?
Yes — but only if it’s properly insulated.
Seasonal 28mm cabins are ideal for spring and summer use.
For year-round use as an office or accommodation, we recommend an 44mm or fully insulated cabin with insulated floor and roof.
What wall thickness do I need?
28–45mm: summer use, storage, hobby rooms
58–95mm: extended seasonal use
85mm+: all-year round use with insulation
If you’re unsure, tell us how you plan to use the cabin and we’ll recommend the right structure.
What is included in the price?
Our cabins are supplied with:
Solid timber walls
Tongue & groove floor and roof
Double glazed doors and windows
Manufacturer’s structural warranty
Optional extras include insulation, rubber roofing, electrics, painting and full installation.
Do you offer installation?
Yes.
We offer supply only, supply & build, or full turnkey packages including basework, insulation, electrics and decoration.
How long does delivery and installation take?
Many of our most popular cabins are available from stock.
Delivery can often be arranged within 2–6 weeks, depending on location and specification.
For custom build cabins delivery can be 12-16 weeks, depending on location and specification.
How long will a log cabin last?
With proper installation and maintenance, a quality log cabin can last 10–20+ years.
We use slow-grown Scandinavian timber for strength and durability.
Can I customise the cabin?
Yes.
Most of our cabins can be customised in size, layout, glazing configuration and finish.
If you can’t find exactly what you want, speak to us — we regularly adapt buildings to suit customer requirements.
What’s the difference between a garden room and a log cabin?
A traditional log cabin uses interlocking solid timber walls.
A garden room typically uses a framed insulated structure with internal and external cladding.
Both can be suitable for year-round use — the best option depends on budget and preference.
