Planning permission

Planning permission is not needed for our log cabins as long as:

  • The Cabin is positioned at least 5 metres away from the rear wall of the house.
  • The Cabin is less than 4m heigh.
  • The Cabin takes up less than 50% of your garden, this area includes any other sheds/greenhouses etc.
  • If you are on a corner plot the cabin must not be erected nearer the road than the house or exceed the building line of the property without planning consent.
  • You do not live in a conservation area or listed building.

Many planning authorities regard timber buildings as having a small impact on the environment, but if you have any doubts you should contact your local authority or log on to www.planningportal.gov.uk
