We do not provide services where we will source you a plot of land, however below are a couple of links that can help you start to search for land on the internet.

Cabin Questions

Q. Are doors and windows supplied with glazing?
A. Yes, all windows are supplied single or double glazed.

Q. Are the buildings pre-treated?
A. No, only the Barers have been treated so it is recommended that you treat your building yourself after construction.

Q. Where can I purchase the wood preservative?
A. We have a range in stock, please call for details.

Q. Can I change the doors and windows from the standard package?
A. We offer a range of doors and windows which can replace the standard package (please see cabin options for full range). Additional doors and windows can also be purchased.

Q. If there is not a cabin in your range that meets our requirements, do you make bespoke cabins?
A. Yes, as long as you supply us with a floor plan we can build the cabin to your exact requirements.

Q. What is included in the price?
A. The prices for the houses on the website are for timber kit only and include all the timber structure, doors, windows, flooring and roof boarding, the prices do not include the base, insulation, roof tiling or erecting the cabin; unless specifically stated on the product page.

Q. Do you have any cabins in stock?
Yes, we hold stock of some cabins. For an up-to-date list please call our sales team on 01389 734572 or see our website.

Q. Is the timber you use taken from sustainable sources?
All our timber used is sourced from carefully managed forests. We work alongside manufacturers committed to sustainability and who are aware of their environmental responsibilities. We also plant a tree for every cabin we sell to offset any emissions produced in the transport, manufacture and selling of that cabin. Additional trees can be bought if you wish.

Q. Will I be able to use the cabin all year round?
Our bigger cabins and houses are designed for use throughout the year, after all log cabins have been in use in Scandinavia for as long as people have been living there! We are also able to insulate your cabin which means warmth in the winter and that your cabin will stay cool in the summer.

Q. Can I design my own cabin or modify an existing design?
We are able to provide a fully customizable range of cabins designed to your specification.

Build Questions

Q. Is everything supplied to construct the building i.e. screws, nails etc?
A. Yes all parts are included as are instructions. Tools are not.

Q. What tools do I need for constructing a building?
A. All buildings differ, but in general we recommend you obtain a hammer, screwdrivers both a flat head and Philips, a drill with 4mm and 8mm bits, Tape measure, spirit level, step ladder, Stanley knife and wood saw.

Q. How are the buildings constructed?
A. Follow the instructions provided in your buyers guide and the plan for the building of your choice. Additional instructions can be downloaded from this website or can be sent to you by contacting our customer care team on 01389 734572.

Q. How many people does it take to erect a building?
We recommend at least 2 people.

Q. How long will it take to erect a building?
This depends on the size of the building the amount of people helping and the level of expertise. In general the smallest and simplest will take two people around a day where as the larger more complicated models could take longer.

Q. Is there a helpline if I get stuck with the build?

Q. Should I insulate my cabin?
A. We recommend the floor and roof should be insulated to make the cabin more efficient to heat. Instructions on how to insulate your cabin can be found Here.

Q. Can you arrange to get my cabin built?
A. We have a team of recommended contractors who are available to build up your cabin. Please call our customer care team for further details.

Delivery Questions

Q. Do I have to do anything to take delivery of a building?
A. You are required to have 2 persons to help with the delivery offload. We also recommend that access be cleared to the area of construction and notify us if there is a difficult access point. For access through archways and doors please check door sizes.

Q. How is the building delivered?
A. The building will either come with a panel for each side of the building fully built, in a kit form (in the case of log cabins) where each log is supplied separately.

Q. What is the delivery time for a building?
A. All products will be delivered between 4 to 6 weeks during Spring, Autumn and Winter; and 6 to 8 weeks during Summer.

Q. Is there an option to collect?
A. Yes you can collect your cabin (providing you have your own means of transport) from our warehouse.

Base Questions

Q. Do I have to do any preparation before commencing assembly?
A. It is essential that the building is built on a firm base.

Q. What should I use as a firm base?
A. Paving slabs or a concrete base are ideal.

Q. I am struggling to build a correct base - can you help.
A. Yes, please refer to How "Base Construction" on this website which gives guidance on building a suitable base.

Q. What base will I need to support my cabin?
For garden cabins the best option is a level concrete base, however you can put it on decking or patio slabs or use concrete blocks (especially when the ground is sloping).
For log houses any traditional type of foundations can be used as would be used for any other type house i.e. strip foundations, pile foundations or slab foundations.
If the ground is sloping, the best type is a pile foundation where concrete blocks are laid into pillars in right places to take the cabin base frame. Pile foundations are most commonly used for lighter cabins such as mobile homes.

Contact Order and Payment Questions

Q. What Payment Methods do you except?
A. When buying on-line or over the telephone we accept Mastercard, Visa, Switch, Solo, Delta or Meastro. Cheques are also accepted; however, in this case, goods will only be dispatched once payment has been cleared.

Q. When ordering do I have to pay for the item in full?
A. Only if you wish to, we will usually take a small deposit. Just before the item is dispatched to you we will ask for the final amount payable.

Q. How will I know if my order has been received?
A. If you place an order on-line you will receive an email confirmation. If you place on order over the telephone, the team member concerned will advise you that your order has been placed and your payment accepted.

Q. What if I find the same product cheaper elsewhere?
A. Should find an item elsewhere, which is identical to ours, at a cheaper price, please give us the opportunity to better it. Contact our Customer Care Team on 01389 734572 for more details.

Q. How do I order on-line?
A. Ordering on-line couldn't be is simpler. To go ahead and order, please click the add to basket icon. It is at this point that you will be asked to add the chosen product(s) and option(s), where applicable, to your personal on-line basket. You can review your basket at any time by clicking on the basket icon at the top left hand side of the ordering page. If you wish to amend your shopping items, you can do so very easily.
When you have finished your selection, please double check carefully that you have selected exactly what you want to buy. Once you are happy with your ladder, you will be ready to proceed with your payment. To do this, simply click on the checkout button where you will enter our secure server. Please note, for your added security, that the lock icon on your browser is to highlight that you are in a secure area.

Once you have selected your payment choice and payment have been successfully executed, you will automatically receive an order confirmation email. This will include your order reference number, order details, shipping address and estimated delivery time.
In most cases, several days prior to delivery, you will be contacted with regard to a precise delivery date.

Q. How do I know it is safe to shop on-line with you?
A. When you reach the point at which sensitive information needs to be passed to us, you will see a padlock at the bottom of your browser window advising you that you are entering a secure area. Clicking on the padlock will give you information about the secure area, where your credit card details are processed and encrypted. The certificate can only be signed by trusted organisations and guarantees a high level of security.

Q. Will I get discount on multiple orders?
Yes we are able to offer a discount to anyone who would like to buy more than one cabin.

Q. Do you provide finance?
Unfortunatly we do not.

Guarantee and Returns Questions

Q. What sort of guarantee do you offer?
A. We offer a structural guarantee of 5 years, and 2-3 years guarantee on all our doors & windows. This is providing the cabin has been correctly constructed and has preserved immediately after build and coated regularly thereafter.

Q. What is the returns policy?
A. You may return any delivered products you have purchased within 7 working days of delivery for any reason (including if you simply change your mind). To do so, you must notify us in writing via email or post within 7 working days of delivery.
If you are returning a product for any reason, except damage or manufacturer defect, you must pay the costs of returning the products to us or our suppliers. On request, we will collect the products from you, but the cost of this will be charged to you and we may deduct this from the refund.
Additionally, if the product delivered to you is not what you ordered (including an unapproved substitute product), does not correspond with its description, the product delivered is not of a satisfactory quality or the product arrives damaged or faulty, we may replace the item or affected parts. You will not be charged for the cost of returning an unapproved substitute or defective product.
If a product arrives in a damaged condition, you must make a note on the carrier's delivery consignment note, where possible, and inform us within 7 working days of the delivery.
If the product becomes defective soon after 7 working days have passed, Logspan will, at our discretion, repair the product, replace the product or refund you. You will not be charged for the cost of returning a defective product.
We will not accept returns or cancellations if the products have been altered by applying chemicals or paints to the surfaces or by altering or customising the product in any way that could be deemed as you using or treating the products as your own.
While in your possession, you must keep any products you intend to return to us in good condition. Products must be returned in the same condition as they were delivered. If products were delivered flat packed, they must be returned in the same way. Every effort must be taken to ensure that the return product(s) are packed well to avoid damage or loss of parts in transit.
Products returned which cannot be re-sold as new due to damage or wear and tear may be subject to a reduction in the refund given.

Q. I think I may have a missing part, who do I contact?
A. We have a fully trained Customer Care team available to assess whether in fact any parts are missing or whether this may be a misinterpretation of the parts received. In the event that a part(s) may be missing, then this team will process an urgent order for you.

Q. My building has been damaged can I purchase replacement parts?

Q. What is the life expectancy of my log cabin home?
A. The life expectancy of your log home is many generations, with the proper design, sufficient roof overhang, proper foundations and right maintenance.
